Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026
Soura Booth ("we", "us", "the app") is a photo booth application for iPad. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how. Our guiding principle is simple: your photos belong to you. Photos and videos stay on your device unless you choose to share them, and when you share them through our cloud feature they are encrypted so that we cannot read them.
Photos, videos, and boomerangs
Media you capture is created and stored locally on your device. You control whether and how it leaves the device:
- Saving to your library — media is saved to your device's Photos library only with your permission.
- Local Wi-Fi sharing — when guests scan a QR code on the same Wi-Fi network, the photo is served directly from your device over your local network. It is never uploaded to us.
- Encrypted cloud sharing — if you enable cloud QR sharing, the photo is encrypted on your device before upload. Only the encrypted file is stored on our cloud provider; the decryption key is contained in the QR link and is never sent to our servers. As a result, we cannot view, decrypt, or recover photos shared this way. Encrypted files are automatically deleted after a short retention period (currently 7 days).
Camera and photo library access
The app requests camera access to capture photos and show a live preview, and photo-library access to save the photos you create. These permissions are used only for those purposes. You can change them at any time in your device's Settings.
Subscriptions and purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. To verify and activate your subscription we process the purchase transaction information Apple provides, and we maintain a device identifier so we can enforce the per-plan device limit and let you manage your active devices.
Information we do and don't collect
- No account required. The app does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or contact details to use it.
- Device identifier — a per-installation identifier is used solely for subscription activation and device- limit enforcement.
- Diagnostic and crash data — we use Apple and Google Firebase infrastructure (for example, to deliver app configuration, run server functions, and collect crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics). These services may process limited technical data — such as IP address, and crash logs that include device state (model, OS version, available memory) — to operate, secure, and improve the app. Crash data is not linked to your identity and is never used for advertising.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use your photos for advertising or to train any model.
Third-party services
The app relies on the following providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Apple — App Store, in-app purchases, and iCloud-related services.
- Google Firebase — server functions, app configuration, and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
- Cloudflare R2 — storage of end-to-end-encrypted photo files for cloud QR sharing (encrypted data only).
Children's privacy
Soura Booth is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can revoke camera or photo-library access in Settings, disable cloud sharing in the app, and manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Because encrypted shares auto-expire and local media lives on your device, deleting media on your device or letting a share expire removes it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
